Thank you for you interest and support in the work we are doing for the current
and future generations.
What's New?

The year 2011 was a very awesome and dynamic year for our business.  There were many highlights, accomplishments,
and lessons learned.  Not the least among these highlights were the people we were able to work with.  We would like to
extend our deepest gratitude to those of you we were honored to work and have a relationship with.

As we move into 2012 we recognize that the world is experiencing a epic transition of an era in time.  As 2011 showed
us, the growing seasons and climates are having a tremendous impact upon the forests and waters.  The
connectedness of all that lives becomes more apparent as the resiliency of forests and communities are challenged in
adjustments that absolutely must be met with a robust energy and dynamic vision.

First Nations Wildcrafters, BC is eager and competent to meet these needs, challenges and opportunities that the
changing of an era presents to us all.  We are committed to our belief and values that it is the local and traditional
knowledge holders of the forests that possess the knowledge that is needed to guide these next steps of the collective
future we are destined to share.

We are committed to continuing our relationships with customers and clients that understand that value is more than can
be measured by dollar signs.  We are committed to continuing our business model that demonstrates that quality
assurance, food safety, traceability and ethical harvesting practices should not be considered as an added cost to the
public.

Everyone, regardless of income, has the absolute right to quality products and the assurance that their purchases do
not support irresponsible practices or support clever marketing tactics that do not result in true benefits to local
communities and responsible land use practices.  These are values that the public should be able to have trust in.  We
reject the idea that the public should be expected to "pay more" for responsible resource use decisions or for quality
assurance in what they purchase.  Ethics should not have to come as a cost to the public with a premium price tag.

In 2012 our consulting and training services will meet the definitive changes that this new era brings.  We will be
welcoming new clients and associative relationships that recognize that we collectively must do better in forestry
management, agri-food products and local-regional needs-based economic diversification.

We will be expanding our work to bring the necessary "toolkits" to the community levels to actively participate in decision
making that impacts cultural uses of the forests.  Our work will continue to move beyond the "myth of emptiness" that
results in the exploitation of traditional peoples and displaces their knowledge in decision-making and from having a
validated lead role in economic diversification of derived benefits from resources.

Our 2012 services will be focused on providing extension and mentoring support that is cost effective in this era when
government funding levels are greatly reduced or eliminated.  We will do this by demonstrating a model of support
services that moves beyond the current models of supporting ineffective and counter-productive investments in capacity
building and enterprise development.

2012 ushers in a time of change.  First Nations Wildcrafters, BC fully intends to greet this new era with dynamic and
robust forward-looking solutions that remain firmly rooted in traditional and cultural values that we have demonstrated
are relevant, and viable, in meeting these changes.

We hope that 2012 is a very good year for you and your's.  We look forward to what this new era brings.
